ITG - IRS Laser Tailshaft Balance Facility Software (Ford
Australia)
When Ford made the move to IRS
(Independent Rear Suspension) on all vehicles they had to
have a means of ensuring the correct balance of the tail
shaft. The balance facilities are used
to test and balance the driveline of the vehicle to remove
any slight vibrations.The challenge was to produce a facility that was faster
and required less operator interaction. ITG stepped up to
the task and produced the worlds first Laser IRS Balance
Facility.
Our task was to develop the software to join all the
pieces together and allow anyone to operate the facility
using a step by step process. The software gathers vehicle
information, sets up the facility for specific vehicle
characteristics, receives vibration test results, calculates
correction weight position, controls test flow and provides
operator instructions. It also stores vehicle balance data
for further analysis.
We also provided technical, PC hardware and networking
expertise to the project. |
